Shots and movies are framed and viewed on the integrated 4.6cm LCD monitor. The icing on the cake is its great price-performance ratio.
The purchase of a digital camera can be a challenging prospect for those making the initial switch from the analogue world. Not only in terms of
what image quality to expect, but also in regards to operation. With the
C-480 ZOOM, Olympus presents a camera that makes child’s play of digital photography.
Pictures will impress with their sharpness and clarity due to the combination of features packed into this model’s beautifully rounded form. A resolution of 4.0 million pixels gives images ample definition. This is complemented by a precision 3x zoom lens system (38-114mm equivalent on 35mm cameras). Naturally, incorporating the TruePic TURBO image processor, this camera is not only fast, but the images produced are sure to convince with their brilliance.
Using it couldn’t be more simple. The C-480 ZOOM is designed for straightforward, intuitive operation. In most cases, users can simply point and shoot, with the camera automatically determining the best exposure and focus settings. Alternately, one of 15 scene programmes can be selected to match the current shooting situation – such as portraits, night scenes, or when photographing at the beach. A special help function assists users in selecting the best scene programme by displaying a corresponding sample picture. Added versatility is provided through the Super Macro mode that allows stunning close ups of flowers, coins and jewellery, etc., from as little as 2cm away.
Framing subjects is easy too. A large 4.6cm LCD monitor shows exactly the image that will be captured. Of course, the LCD can also be used to review and present the movies or photos taken. Moreover, using the special “Re-size with frame illustration” editing function, photographers can choose from a variety of templates, which are already in the camera, to create birthday cards, for example. And due to being PictBridge compatible, images can be printed directly on any printer supporting this standard, such as the Olympus P-10. This means C-480 ZOOM users don’t even need to own a computer to enjoy the benefits of digital photography and the convenience of home printing.
Thanks to an integrated 14MB internal memory, the camera is ready to shoot straight out of the box. In addition, a slot for xD-Picture Cards means that memory may be increased. And being powered by standard or rechargeable AA-size batteries, users are assured of always being able to easily find an energy source for this model, from just about anywhere.
Featuring an attractive design matched with high image quality and ease of use, the C-480 ZOOM represents exceptional value for money and is just the ticket for all wanting to enter the exciting world of digital photography. The camera is shipped with the Olympus Master 1.1 software and will be available from March 2005.
