µ-mini DIGITAL S is bound to make a splash. When first announced in autumn last year, the Olympus µ-mini series was an instant hit. With its futuristic, colourful design, smooth contours and specially-created lens barrier, it proved to be irresistible. Now, utilising this award-winning design concept and introducing more colours, the µ-mini DIGITAL S also increases resolution to 5.0 million pixels to provide even better image results.

Fashioned from a single sheet of metal, the camera’s strikingly-attractive weatherproof* body gleams with a lustrous, porcelain-like finish. Its elegant flat design, free of protrusions, is made possible by the special sliding lens barrier. And thanks to the choice of colours ranging from Enamel Black and Gloss Beige through to Lagoon Blue, photographers will find a model that reflects their individual style.

With a resolution of 5.0 million pixels and utilising the TruePic TURBO image processor, the µ-mini DIGITAL S can capture images in marvellous detail. Precision zoom optics with three aspherical elements guarantee that pictures convince with edge-to-edge clarity and definition. Incorporating 14 scene programmes, this model ensures all shots are optimally exposed, no matter what the motif. The best settings are thereby automatically selected for many common shooting situations, such as for portraits, at the beach or capturing sunsets.

Adding an extra dimension to memories, movies with sound can be recorded. The length of the video sequences is only limited by the available memory on the xD-Picture Card. And for ultra-close-up shooting, Super Macro mode allows for shots from just 8cm.

All results can be viewed on the high-quality 4.6cm LCD monitor. Using HyperCrystal LCD technology, the monitor features extraordinarily wide viewing angles of 160° from all directions to offer clear views – even in strong sunlight. In addition, soft focus and fisheye editing effects may be carried out on images directly in the camera and reviewed on the LCD monitor. Then, when it’s time to print, compatibility with PictBridge makes it fast and easy. Any printer adhering to the standard, such as the Olympus P-10, can print out the desired photos – all without the need for a PC.

Water sports and outdoor enthusiasts also have their bases covered. An optional Outdoor Case provides protection up to a water depth equivalent of three metres – and users needn’t even forgo any camera functions.

Individualists will love the cheery µ-mini DIGITAL S. Matching a head-turning design with impressive performance attributes, this weatherproof* 5.0 million pixel model will be available from April 2005. A 16MB xD-Picture Card, rechargeable lithium-ion battery (Li-30B) and charger, USB/AV cable and Olympus Master 1.1 software come as standard.
