Get closer and see more - Olympus µ 750 for stylish zoom photography
The µ 750 boasts a stylish metal body that offers weatherproof* protection, letting it be used rain or shine. It comes in a choice of 2 attractive colours – Starry Silver and Midnight Black . The gently tapered design not only looks great, it also makes it a treat to hold. 7.1 million pixels provide for razor-sharp images which can be viewed on the large, 6.4cm LCD.
Equipped with a 5x, 1:3.3-5.0 zoom lens (equivalent to 36-180mm on a 35mm camera), photographers can enjoy shooting flexibility not before seen in this camera class. Subjects from afar can now be brought in much closer – thereby expanding the potential application of these models without expanding their physical dimensions.
So that the shots always obtain the sharpness they deserve, the µ 750 incorporates Dual Image Stabilization. On the one hand, this comprises a new Mechanical Image Stabiliser which helps to avoid blurry pictures caused by camera shake. A built-in gyro sensor detects camera movement and adjusts the CCD accordingly. On the other hand, high ISO values further reduce the likelihood of image blur.
Better photography in low light
Thanks to BrightCapture Technology, framing and taking photos under low-light conditions is far from being a haphazard affair. To begin, the high contrast, 6.4cm LCD with 215,000 pixels is around 4x brighter than normal to make locating subjects on the screen significantly easier.
BrightCapture Technology is also used to enhance shooting capabilities in a wide range of challenging lighting situations – without always needing to use the flash. This makes capturing the atmosphere of candle-lit dinners, indoor parties or other night scenes much more effective. Even at the high maximum ISO value of 1600, it lets photographers take full advantage of the entire 7.1 million pixel resolution. But not only still images benefit from the capabilities BrightCapture Technology affords.
Handling par excellence
With its light weight and decisively ergonomic form, the µ 750 fits like a glove in the hand. And so that shooting is just as comfortable, as well as Auto shooting mode, Olympus has equipped this model with a choice of 23 scene modes (including Portrait, Landscape and Sports) that cover just about every common photo situation.
While operation is largely intuitive, a built-in Guide Function helps out in instances where users are uncertain. The various main camera features, including menu options and scene modes, are explained directly on the cameras’ LCD. In this way photographers will be able to get the most out of their camera wherever they are – even if the user manual isn’t close by. Furthermore, Olympus breaks the language barrier. The GUI, Guide Function, user manual and software are all available in a total of 25 European languages. This makes the cameras completely understandable in 39 European countries – a feat only achieved by Olympus – so it’s easy for everyone to operate these models no matter their native tongue.
Image and movie data is stored either on the built-in internal memory or on xD-Picture Cards. And so that shooting enjoyment can continue over long periods without the need to recharge, the model comes with a high-performance LI-42B lithium-ion battery and charger.
Fans of the fascinating world of underwater photography will also not be disappointed. The PT-034 Underwater Case, enabling shooting to depths of 40m, is also available.
The µ 750 is the ideal choice for those who want to accept no limits. Stylish design, exceptional zoom performance, BrightCapture Technology, ergonomic handling and overall high image quality plus mechanical image stabilisation comprise a formidable combination that’s hard to beat.
