Shooting conditions: E-P1, ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm 1:4.0-5.6 at 9mm, Program mode, 1/320 sec., F9.0, exposure compensation: -1.0EV.
Shooting tips:
- Depending on how you apply the wide angle lens, it will add a special perspective to your images. E.g. if you shoot the branches towards the sky from a lower position it will look like as if it is stretching
- If the branches are not completely in the frame it will add additional dynamics to your image. Meaning with one step back, forth or aside your image will appear to have a totally different perspective
- Getting the trees aligned you need to level off the frame. Doing it manually is not that easy for beginners, therefore the digital level gauge of the camera was used

Shooting conditions: E-P1, ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm 1:4.0-5.6 at 10mm, Aperture Priority Mode, 10” sec., F11.0, Image Stabilisation off, tripod.
Shooting tips:
- With wide angle lenses the background appears to look further away from the nearby subjects. To particularly feature this uniqueness of the lens fills out the entire images with the subjects. The core subject will stand out even more with an increasing number of subjects, which will also emphasize the special effect of a wide angle lens
- To realize the above picture, get close to the warehouse and increase the part of the road at the same time. Make sure that the road is running across the frame and place the camera at an upper position
- As a wide angle lens covers a huge range of the subject, framing is the key for good images. Make sure that you move back and forth (up and down) and adjust the zoom length before you fix the final composition

Shooting conditions: E-P1, ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm 1:4.0-5.6 at 9mm, Program Priority Mode, 1/320 sec., F8.0.
Shooting tips:
- Ultra wide angle lenses emphasize perspective; therefore changing the shooting angle makes a large difference in the pictures. This is especially effective while shooting an upper subject from a lower position or vice versa
- Flat scenes like a blue sky without any clouds are less impressive as an image. Adding objects just partly the image will become more dramatic, like the trees giving the picture more dimension and colour
