Support for Children's Hospital in Kabul
The Irene Salimi Childrens’ Hospital is a humanitarian project started in April 2005, to improve medical care for children in Afghanistan, principally in the areas of paediatric surgery and urology. It opened in April 2005. The mostly very poor patients receive free treatment which is financed by institutions and private donations. Paediatric surgeon, Dr. Robert Kastner, from Munich requested the support from Olympus and took the instruments to Kabul personally. He offers free surgery for the children there and had already performed the first operations with the new Olympus equipment before the end of last year.
