An innovative solution for advanced endoscope reprocessing
  Reduced risk of allergies
The new process ha s bee n designed in order to minimise the risk of allergies. During the entire development of the process, special emphasis has been put on preserving the health of the users and on keeping the process environmentally friendly. And all components are delivered in containers which facilitate easy handling without any skin contact .

Reduced reprocessing time
Saving time cuts costs and this PAA process saves time. The reason is simple. The new disinfectant attains complete hygienic efficiency at ambient temperatures. That means there is no need to wait while your system heats up the water to working temperature. The shorter process time allows a faster turn - around of your endoscopes.

Three components, one process, optimal results

Benefit from the experience.

As the leading manufacturer of endoscopes Olympus has a detailed understanding of the cleaning and disinfection process. Working in co-operation with Miele Professional , one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of instrument washers and disinfectors and Henkel -Ecolab, an acknowledged specialist in applied chemistry, Olympus has developed a new, highly effective peracetic acid (PAA) process, that is faster and more user friendly than previous systems.

Best for your endoscope
Fully functional at low temperatures, the PAA process is gentle on your endoscopes. Material compatibility depends mainly on the formula used for the production of the disinfectant. Through extensiveresearch a formula could be developed, which provides full compatibility with Olympus f lexible endoscopes .
The full material compatibility was confirmed by extensive testing in the Olympus laboratories.

New GA free process for ETD machines
For a long time doctors and nurses have been asking for a glutaraldehyde free process in automatic reprocessing. Olympus now offers an attractive alternative to glutaraldehyde reprocessing. The process uses three newly developed chemicals:
  • The new surfactant-based detergent has been optimised for lower temperatures.
  • The disinfectant is based on peracetic acid (PAA )
  • The activator will be dosed together with the disinfectant to ensure full material compatibility

Together, these components deliver optimal results with a whole range of advantages.

Best for ETD System
The new PAA process has been developed specifically for the ETD 2 and the ETD 2 plus. You and your staff can take full advantage of the new process without changing to a new system. Now you simply have a choice with respect to the process you use. The convenience, ease of use and reliability of the ETD system remains the same.

Proven effective against Fungi, Vuruses and Bacteria
Proven microbiological efficacy Tests carried out in the Henkel laboratories and various independent institutes have proven the efficacy of the PAA ETD process. In addition, a volumet ricdosage control guarantees a standardised concentration throughout the entire process, for a consistent, standardised cleaning and disinfecting result .
Finally, the ETD 2 plus does not reuse the disinfectant solution. Consequently there is no danger of dilution of the disinfectant solution .

No fixation of proteins
In the BSE /CJD discussion the fixation of proteins has become an important issue. Unlike glutaraldehyde, peracetic acid avoids f ixation of proteins. A higher cleaning effect during the overall process is given in comparison to the conventional GA process. As peracetic acid is a highly efficacious disinfectant , the new GA- free process for ETD machines provides superior hygienic results.

Upgrading is simple operation - The ETD 3 Plus Kit

A user-friendly system
The new PAA process is simple to use. There is no need for a new washer, so all the controls and commands remain the same. A simple kit enables the addition of a third chemical container. The operation of ETD 2 remains the same. The disinfectant container is completely emptied and the washer notifies you when are fill is necessary. And of course the process can be automatically documented. In the ESI concept , ETD 2 works together with Endoscan 2 for online transfer of all reprocessing data to Endobase II I .
