A new concept in vibration-free design
There are no "good vibrations" in electrophysiology. Olympus WI microscopes have been designed to prevent user induced vibrations as much as possible. All operational controls like the front coarse and fine focusing mechanism and the mechanical filterwheel are located far from the specimen. Special swing and swing/slide nosepieces allow very gentle movement of objectives. The adjustable clickstop of the fluorescence turret and a vibration-free shutter prevent concussion. But vibration-free design is not constricted to mechanics. The unique XLUMPFL20x objective in combination with an intermediate magnification changer enables you to select different magnifications without changing the objective.
Infrared contrast
Benefits of infrared light for specimen illumination in comparison to white light are the protection of living cells and higher penetration depths for thick tissue slices. The oblique illumination condenser in combination with IR illumination offers a simple and cost effective way for IR contrast in plastic vessels. IR-DIC equipment for 750 nm and 900 nm illumination is the choice if you are looking for contrast without compromise.
Fluorescence
- Olympus fluorescence illumination combined with Olympus high definition
   ion coated filters.
- Highest signal to noise performance incorporating the wavelength accuracy,
edge steepness and low autofluorescence of the UIS2 HQ fluorescence
   filters.
Use this potential for new discoveries.
Fluorescence macro observation
Interactions of cells are not restricted to direct neighbours but can reach over long distances. A prerequisite for observation of these phenomena are low magnification objectives with high numerical apertures. The XFLUOR2x/340 and XFLUOR4x/340 objectives offer not only high NA but also high transmission in UV making them especially suitable for the observation of UV excitable fluorochromes.
Modular motorisation
Motorisation is essential for full process automation. The Olympus modular motorisation concept allows you to choose the automation level depending on your needs. Motorised modules for the manual BX51WI include fluorescence condenser with integrated shutter, filterwheels for illumination and observation light paths and stages. Everything controlled by a convenient hand switch or by our imaging software.
System solutions
No matter if you just would like to archive your images, analyse multistained specimens or run automated experiments etc., the family of Olympus Imaging software packages has the right solution ready for you. From basic packages up to highly integrated solutions for imaging, microdissection, high content screening and more. Our field- and in-house specialists support you in finding the best solution.
