a4i PhaseFraction
a4i PhaseFraction is for fast and reliable determination of phase fractions in multi-phase structures. By defining various intensity ranges, up to six structural phases can be measured simultaneously in an entire image or in a particular image area (area of interest). The results can be accumulated using any number of measurement fields. Finally a measurement record is generated. This is archived along with the images and measurement results in a4i Docu at the click of a button.
a4i ParticleSize
a4i ParticleSize is for determining particle parameters such as area and diameter throughout an entire image or within a user-definable image segment. The results contain a list of size distribution.
a4i GrainSize
a4i GrainSize offers fast and reproducible determination of grain size in single and dual-phase structures based on the line-intercept method. Before evaluation begins, automatic grain-boundary reconstruction and other image processing steps can be conducted. This enables users to adapt this module quickly and flexibly to evaluation of new classes of samples.
a4i GrainArea
The GrainSize software now includes the GrainArea module for planimetric grain size measurement. A completely new, powerful algorithm facilitates the evaluation of nearly all types of single- and dual-phased structures with bright or dark grain boundaries, as well as structures with differently coloured grains: e.g. of aluminum etched in Barker's solution. Among the characteristic values detected are the grain size number, the number of grains per area unit, the average grain area, the average grain diameter as well as the distribution of area, diameter and axis ratio of the grains.  Measurement results are accumulated for any number of fields. The report as well as the images and measurement results can be archived in a4i Docu at the touch of a button.
a4i CoatingThickness
a4i CoatingThickness is an interactive measurement module for easy-to-use determination of the thickness of up to 6 layers. Measuring is done along parallel and equidistant lines, thus guaranteeing statistically correct results.
a4i DAS
a4i DAS is for standards-compliant determination of the mean dendrite arm spacing in cast aluminum.
a4i CastIron Expert
Classification of graphite according to shape, alignment, size and other characteristics.  Olympus Soft Imaging Solution's a4i CastIron Expert fulfills all sections of the EN ISO 945 and ASTM A247 standards – for evaluating nodular, flake and vermicular graphite in cast iron. In a single processing step, classification is carried out – according to shape, size and alignment as well as determining graphite fraction and nodularity. Furthermore, the ferrite-pearlite ratio can be determined and microstructural formation displayed.
a4i Banding
This program can be use for characterisation of banded or oriented microstructures regarding the degree of banding and the orientation of the microstructures.
