During this challenging period, Olympus is supporting all employees in Ukraine. They and their families are currently unharmed and have been offered assistance in leaving the country. Other support has been offered to our Ukrainian colleagues in neighboring countries as well as to our Russian colleagues, who have either been directly impacted or who fear for the safety of their families and friends.

As for the interruption of goods movements to and from the affected region, Olympus is carefully monitoring the situation. We are providing customers in Russia with locally available products and services whenever possible and will continue to assess possibilities to deliver urgently needed medical equipment to both Russia and Ukraine so that our customers can provide their patients with the best possible standard of care. This equipment involves medical technology, particularly in the area of early diagnosis and minimally invasive therapies for diseases such as colorectal or lung cancer.

Finally, to alleviate some of the suffering of the Ukrainian population, Olympus will donate US$500,000 to established international organizations that are assisting victims of the current hostilities. We are also matching employee donations in our Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) organization and promoting as well as coordinating local humanitarian support initiatives from Olympus subsidiaries throughout Europe and the world.

Looking forward, Olympus will continue to make every effort to provide for the needs of our employees, customers and patients, and to assist others who have been placed in hardship by this conflict.
