Access infection prevention toolsThe Olympus ENT portfolio provides comprehensive solutions for both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in rhinology, otology, and laryngology. This includes advanced video endoscopes, high-definition imaging systems, and minimally invasive therapeutic technologies such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microdebrider systems.
Our therapeutic portfolio focuses on tissue-preserving, minimally invasive treatments:
Our portfolio is powered by high-definition surgical video platforms designed to deliver exceptional clarity and contrast in the operating room and outpatient clinic. Key systems include:
Narrow Band Imaging™ (NBI™) is a proprietary optical imaging technology that enhances the visibility of vascular structures and mucosal patterns without the use of chemical dyes. By filtering white light into specific narrowband wavelengths—blue ($415\text{ nm}$) and green ($540\text{ nm}$)—NBI™ takes advantage of the high absorption spectrum of hemoglobin. Blue light penetrates superficially to illuminate capillaries in the mucosa, while green light penetrates deeper to reveal larger submucosal vessels. This structural contrast is highly valuable in laryngology, rhinology, and oncology pathways for:
Yes. Advanced visualization features, including NBI™, are integrated into our flagship processors, such as the OTV-S500 (VISERA S), as well as our dedicated flexible video endoscopy systems. This ensures that whether you are performing a complex surgical procedure using a rigid telescope or a routine diagnostic laryngoscopy with a flexible scope, you have access to enhanced optical diagnosis at the touch of a button on the camera head.
Unlike monopolar systems, CELON’s bipolar configuration ensures that the high-frequency current flows exclusively between the two poles of the applicator tip. The integrated CELON power control automatically monitors tissue impedance, provides acoustic feedback when the optimal coagulation grade is achieved, and automatically stops power delivery. This helps prevent over-coagulation, maximizes patient safety, and minimizes damage to the surrounding healthy mucosa.
Yes. Because CELERIS is a compact, single-use system with a minimal footprint, it eliminates the need for bulky console setups. This makes it highly versatile and ideally suited for moving appropriate procedures out of the main operating room (OR) and into outpatient clinic rooms or ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), helping to optimize hospital capacity and throughput.
Because the CELERIS handpiece—including the motor and cable—is completely disposed of after the procedure, the entire burden of reprocessing, packaging, and transporting reusable instruments is eliminated. The surgical team has an immediate, sterile, and factory-fresh device ready for every patient. This drastically shortens turnover times between surgeries while eliminating the risks of cross-contamination and device downtime caused by wear and tear.
Many of our latest HD endoscopes and video rhinolaryngoscopes integrate seamlessly with standard Olympus surgical imaging platforms (such as the VISERA series). For specific compatibility matrices regarding light sources, camera heads, and video processors, please contact your local Sales Representative.
All reusable ENT endoscopes must undergo rigorous cleaning and high-level disinfection (HLD) or sterilization between patients. Olympus provides validated, step-by-step reprocessing manuals detailing manual pre-cleaning, Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER) compatibility, and approved chemical sterilants. Always consult the specific Instructions for Use (IFU) for your exact device model.
We support clinical teams through structured evaluation periods, including on-patient demonstrations and live workflow training led by clinical specialists.
