What is GET UP?
The idea to develop a new training concept was derived from the need to provide opportunities to young gynecologists who are at the beginning of their surgical career with the clinical and technical training they may require to perform minimally invasive procedures. Each year, we carefully select 100 participants based on rigorous scientific criteria, extending them the unique opportunity to engage in a comprehensive four-day training experience.
Course characteristics include:
- Productive mix of lectures, interactive sessions and hands-on training.
- Outstanding European faculty.
- Great opportunity to network with peers, upcoming professionals in gynaecological surgery in Europe.
Throughout the course, we delve into crucial subjects such as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, complications and disorder-related endoscopy.
Learning goals:
- Knowledge to prevent complications (situational awareness) and manage them.
- Ability to navigate the endoscope in a simulated abdominal and uterine cavity.
- Ability to suture and tie laparoscopically intra- and extracorporeal knots.
Means to achieve the learning goals:
- Training of psychomotor skills in simulated environments in gynecological endoscopy.
- Short interactive communications, panel supported, on anatomical recognition, problem-solving and management and prevention of complications.
- Creation of an ambitious and pleasant atmosphere in order to optimally facilitate an effective transfer of knowledge and skills.
Join Us at GET UP 2025 in Hamburg
After the resounding success of last year's event, we are excited to announce that GET UP will return to Hamburg in 2025!
This four-day course is designed to transfer as much knowledge and as many skills as possible in the fields of gynecological endoscopy and hysteroscopy. Our outstanding faculty has put together a well-balanced program that includes lectures, keynotes, and tutorials, along with small-scale interactive sessions and hands-on training of increasing complexity.
The faculty and organizers are dedicated to making the GET UP 2025 training course an unforgettable experience. We wish you all a rewarding and enjoyable learning journey!
Selection Criteria
Only complete registrations will be considered until December 12. After this deadline we carefully select 100 participants based on rigorous scientific criteria which are based on the following considerations:
- Residency status: Priority will be given to residents in their final year of training or those in their first year post-specialization.
- Recommendation letter: A letter from your department head or resident training head confirming the completion of residency is required.
- Previous application: Applicants who applied for GETUP training in the previous year but were not selected will be prioritized.
- Demonstrated interest in endoscopy: This includes memberships of endoscopic societies, endoscopic courses followed, and articles on endoscopy published in PubMed. To increase the probability of selection it is important that you submit truthfully those criteria that are applicable to you. For some criteria you need to upload the confirmation documents, which may be checked.
- ESGE Membership: A minimum of 1 year of regular ESGE membership is required (https://esge.org/membership/).
- English proficiency.
- Geographic diversity.
Please note: Only fully completed registrations can be eligible for selection. Incomplete submissions will be automatically excluded and will not be evaluated against the outlined criteria. All relevant criteria will be addressed through a questionnaire during the registration process. By the end of January 2025, all applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been selected to participate in the course.
